Textiles Waste In Australia

Campaign

Problem

Each year in Australia, over 300,000 tonnes of clothing end up in landfill, driven by fast fashion, overproduction, and limited recycling options. Many garments are worn only a few times before being discarded, creating growing environmental pressure and waste.

Solution

In collaboration with The Australia Institute, the campaign turns textile waste data into bold, confrontational visuals that are hard to ignore. Large-scale statistics are set in a distressed, knitting-inspired typeface, visually reflecting the wear and disposal of garments. Placed in shopping centres and laundromats, the work connects directly with everyday habits to drive awareness and behaviour change.
